Aiming for Business Expansion in Senegal
Tsuji Plastics Co., Ltd. has been selected for the AfDX project, which supports Japanese companies’ business expansion in Africa. The AfDX project aims to create a foothold for Japanese companies entering the African market, supporting the development of projects that contribute to sustainable growth and promoting Japanese business expansion in Africa.
Objective
Tsuji Plastics’ goal is to address the issue of securing safe drinking water in rural villages in Senegal. To achieve this, the company proposes to introduce a locally-based water purification system. By combining high-performance Japanese filtration technology with solar power, it enables a stable supply of drinking water even in areas without access to electricity. Through this project, Tsuji Plastics aims to contribute to improving the living conditions of local residents and to support sustainable development.
Technology and Products
Tsuji Plastics’ drinking water purification system can purify even turbid river water by removing harmful bacteria such as E. coli, providing drinking water of the same quality as bottled water. The system is highly compact yet offers superior purification capabilities, a feature that was well-received by the villagers who viewed the demonstration video. However, the system does not have the capacity to desalinate seawater.
Furthermore, this water purification system is designed to be highly energy-efficient and can operate in conjunction with a solar power system. This allows for stable operation even in regions without access to electricity, making it an ideal solution for rural villages in Senegal.
